What a lovely post! My favourite thing to bring back from holiday are local flours, especially a rye flour any time I visit family in Sweden. Seabuckthorn jam is also a must for me if it's available!
Thank you! And I am so with you on bringing back local flour. In Italy, I love Mulino Marino but whenever I go to Denmark I have to stock up on Øland wheat flour - no idea why but it makes fantastic bread.
And Seabuckthorn jam - lucky you! I only once spotted this in a supermarket in France and had to immediately buy it. Such a unique flavour and the tartness goes so well with thick, rich yoghurt or something like a flourless chocolate cake.
Yes! I was recently backpacking in Norway and for dessert one night (in the DNT huts, which, as an aside, are so nice) they served a chocolate cake with seabuckthorn and it was the culinary highlight of the trip. I'm heading to Stockholm this weekend and hoping to pick up some jam to bring home (and maybe frozen berries if I can find them...)
Good tip on the Øland flour! Will have to pick some up next time I'm there 💜
Oh yes, the chocolate-covered liquorice balls in Denmark are so delicious! It's a wonder I haven't been permanently banned from the Lakrids by Bülow store in Copenhagen Airport for how often I tend to pass by on any layover to dip into the sample bowl, haha.
And burnt barley chocolate? One more reason to visit Iceland!

That sounds delicious! I had something similar at a wedding in Copenhagen once, so so good.
This is elif from İstanbul :) and I learned this pistachio paste from you , thank you 🙏
That’s amazing! Thanks for letting me know. ♥️
You covered a number of my favorites, and I would add chocolate-covered licorice balls from Denmark and burnt barley chocolate from Iceland!

I've heard it's also a great idea to tell someone you love their posts in words!
It definitely is! Thank you!
