Perfect timing! I was just in between making two desserts for dinner tomorrow... just before reading your newsletter I went to the kicthen (as I was falling asleep on my first attemps to watch Dune ;), prepared some poached strawberries with sumac on one side and I let infused almond milk with elderflowers overnight. All this with the idea to either make some vegetal panna cotta or some sort of cheese cake. But now I can say I will make my first muhallabiah tomorrow! I adore the name and now I am looking forward to its taste. Thank you Sophia for the inspo
Tracking down Mahleb should not be too difficult - if you cannot find any online, Middle Eastern grocery stores are probably your best bet (or well stocked spice stores).
I had forgot about Mahleb! Thank you for the reminder and my fond memories of it !
Glad my post triggered some happy memories! Mahleb really is such a wonderful ingredient!

Mahleb forever!
PS I did include the link to your Choreg recipe on Serious Eats which also uses one of my other favourite spices Nigella!
