Thanks for sharing your favorites. I didn't know there was a spice grinder tool. Sounds like a handy tool.

If you like cooking or baking with whole spices rather than preground or grind your own powdered teas or even small amounts of nuts it’s a great addition to your kitchen tool kit!

I love the roundup! Big fan of reading about what people are reading. I’m definitely making this horchata asap - for me any good horchata has to have both almonds and rice, not just rice (as I see too often).

I’ve been making all different types of coffee recently - espresso, pour over, aeropress, salted horchata latte etc. Now we’re heading into summer I feel like it’s time to bring out the cold brew concentrate maker I spent ££ on and have used twice, and maybe I’ll recreate the wonderful refreshing drinks I had in Bologna (espresso tonics, cold brew with elderflower cordial). Maybe I’ll make a salted cheese foam à la bubble tea shops to add to this horchata coffee??

I just got back into using my aeropress as well! And dang it makes great coffee if you don't have an espresso machine! And that salted horchata latte you mentioned on IG as well sounds so so good - haven't had a chance to try this out myself yet but am keeping my eyes peeled for some salted Marcona almonds to give this a try. And yes to cold brew! It finally feels warm enough for iced coffee and so it's definitely time to dust off my cold brew coffee maker as well (yes, equally guilty of owning a $$ cold brew maker).

I'm also thinking of trying toasted coconut milk at some point - saw this on 101cookbooks.com a while back and can't get it out of my hand - not a huge fan of coconut milk in coffee, but something about a toasted coconut milk is intriguing!

As for reading recommendations, same here, always fun to see what others are reading. Have you read anything good lately?

I’ve been reading the new cookbook from Jess Damuck (health nut) and her old one Salad Freak too. Now we’re in spring/summer I feel like I have to re-read all the cookbooks I bought in winter with a different mindset - I tend to scan all the recipes I like into an app on my phone so I can add tags and browse when I’m out and about!

Oooh, which apps is that? That sounds super useful! (And definitely beats burying myself in a stack of my cookbooks whenever I am trying to find a recipe again!)

It’s called CookBook! You can import recipes directly from URLs but I tend to use it for OCR scanning from physical cookbooks - a little time consuming but worth it. I used to use the EatYourBooks website but I think it cost more and I didn’t like it as much

Ditto to bench scrappers and shower caps. I bought a metal bench scrapper and actually sharpened it through a knife sharpener because sometimes it's just helpful cutting vegetables. It's easily in my top three favourite kitchen tools. Shower caps: no hotel is safe from a stolen shower cap in the last few years. I wish I'd marked them so I know where I got them from, you know like robes!

Thanks for the restack! And yes, benchscrapers are fantastic tools! I have given my metal one to my toddler to learn cutting vegetables and it works super well for that too.
