I just bought my first container of sumac and I already want to eat it with alllll the fresh summer fruit. I love cardamom, and tamarind!

It’s so good with fresh fruit, right? I love it with strawberries and cherries in particular! Yes, big fan of cardamom and tamarind too! One of my favourite kitchen hacks is that tamarind water is a great stand-in for limes (eg for guacamole!). How do you use tamarind?

Actually I can't remember the last time I cooked with tamarind ,need to buy more, but I had an amazing Hung Lay curry at a Thai restaurant that I'll never forget.

Forgot to mention, I've had mahleb on my online shopping list recently and your comment to replace almond extract with mahleb sealed the deal! I'm a recovering alcoholic and prefer not to keep alcoholic anything at home (I know NA extracts exist, but a spice just sounds yummier).

Glad to hear that! Once I discovered Mahleb I completely stopped using almond extract. Sure, the flavours are not identical but I also much preferred using a spice over a flavour extract.
